India is set to launch its third-generation Cartosat-3 cartography satellite with high-resolution imaging capability on 25 November on board the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)'s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle-XL (PSLV-XL) rocket, reports India Today.

The Cartosat-3 will be inserted in an orbit at a height of 509 km in the space at an inclination angle of 97.5 degrees. The agile and advanced satellite is likely to bolster India's cartographic abilities.

Along with the Cartosat-3, PSLV-XL rocket of the ISRO will also be carrying 13 commercial nano satellites from the United States (US) which will all be deployed into the sun-synchronous orbit, all in a single flight plan.

It should also be noted that the launch of commercial nano satellites along with Cartosat-3 has been facilitated by NewSpace India Ltd (NSIL), which is a new company formed recently under the Department of Space.
