Japan Joins India’s Fight Against Covid-19 Surge: To Send Oxygen Generators And Ventilators

Japanese Ambassador to India, Satoshi Suzuki, took to Twitter on Friday (30 April) to announce that Japan will provide 300 oxygen generators and 300 ventilators to India.

Suzuki tweeted, "Japan stands with India in her greatest time of need. We have decided to proceed with the procedure to provide 300 oxygen generators and 300 ventilators."

Foreign Secretary Harsh Shringla, in a special media briefing on Thursday (29 April), said that Japan has been a "close partner" according to a report in The Economic Times.


On Friday morning, India received the first batch of life-saving medical supplies containing 423 oxygen cylinders, Rapid Diagnostic Test kits, pulse oximeters, and N95 masks from the United States of America.

India's European Union EU Partner Romania also delivered the consignment containing 80 oxygen concentrators and 75 oxygen cylinders Friday morning.
