The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress and RJD combine in the Jharkhand polls was too much for the BJP to tackle as it is all set to lose out on government formation despite emerging as the single largest party.
As per Election Commission results, the BJP is leading on 29 seats, followed by JMM on 25 seats. Congress is leading on 11 and the RJD on 5 seats.
In total there are 81 seats in the state which puts the majority mark at 41. As per the latest results the JMM+ combine has the required numbers to form the government and bar any late twist Raghubar Das is expected to bow out of office.
Das was earlier trailing against rebel Saryu Roy but has managed to turn things around and now has a slender lead of over 1,000 votes.
If these trends stand, Hemant Soren, the son of Shibu Soren is expected to become the next Chief Minister of the state.
