One person was killed and 25 were injured after a grenade explosion on Monday (4 November) in a market in Jammu and Kashmir’s capital Srinagar, reports Hindustan Times.
According to the report, the police said that the grenade attack took place in a market in Maulana Azad Road.
The police have cordoned off the area and are inspecting the blast site while a hunt is on to nab the accused.
Meanwhile, all the injured have been rushed to a nearby government hospital for medical attention while the condition of two of them is believed to be critical.
Three Sahastra Seema Bal personnel were also injured in the grenade blast, ANI has reported.
The attack, according to the reports, came at a time when markets were open and traffic was moving normally in the civil lines area of the Srinagar.
This is the second grenade attack in the last 10 days. On 28 October, at least 19 civilians were injured after the terrorists hurled a grenade at the Iqbal Market area near the Sopore bus stand in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district.
Earlier on 12 October, eight people were injured in a grenade attack by terrorists in a market place in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar.
