J&K: Special Police Officer, Wife And Daughter Shot Dead By Terrorists In Pulwama  

In a horrific incident, a police officer and his wife were killed and daughter injured after suspected terrorists opened fire at them in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district late on Sunday (27 June), reports Indian Express.

Fayaz Ahmad, his wife, and daughter were at home when terrorists barged in and shot indiscriminately at them at around 11 pm on Sunday.

The husband-wife duo succumbed to their injuries while on their way to a local hospital. Their daughter Rafia, who was initially shifted to a larger hospital for treatment, too died on Monday morning.

Ahmad, a special police officer (SPO), was currently posted at Pulwama and was near his residence in Tral at the time of the incident.

The attack on Ahmad, comes on the heels of attacks on civilians and cops in the Valley. On 22 June, a police inspector was shot dead by two terrorists carrying pistols on the outskirts of Srinagar.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the assailants.
