BySwarajya Staff

The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) will conduct an online entrance examination for all of its graduate, post-graduate and PhD programs from the 2019-20 academic session, Hindustan Times has reported.

The JNU Entrance Examination (JNUEE) would be conducted from 27 to 30 May and the registration process will begin from 15 March till 15 April. The students would also be able to make corrections from 17 to 19 April.

This examination would follow a Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) pattern as announced by the University administration on Wednesday (13 March). This examination would be conducted in partnership with the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The exams can be given from 127 cities across India. The total number of available seats are 3,383.

Incidentally this decision comes in the light of UPSC too mulling a switch to online examinations in the future. This is expected to reduce stress among students and also increase transparency and reduce the logistical challenges which come with an offline exam.
