Sunny Leone’s Bengaluru show has been disrupted due to objections by a fringe Kannada group named Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Yuva Sene (KRVYS), CNN News18 has reported. She is scheduled to perform on 3 November at the event ‘Purity and Expression’ in Manyata Tech Park. The programme organisers are Time Creations.
An earlier programme organised by the same firm had run into problems in December 2017 because the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) felt that such a programme would be an assault on the city’s culture.
“Let there be police permission. We are going to protest. There is no doubt about it. Across the state, we will protest,” President of KRVYS, R Harish, told PTI on Wednesday.
“Since the state formation happened on 1 November and events happen across Karnataka throughout the month, we appeal to the organisers to make the programme Kannada-oriented. Kannada should get priority,” Praveen Kumar Shetty of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike told PTI.
