Appeasement Reaches Karnataka Schools? Minority Students To Be Rewarded For Passing Exams In First Attempt

Under Secretary, Minority Welfare, Haj and Wakf department Akram Basha told Vijaya Karnataka that rewards to minority students who clear exams at first attempt will be provided instantaneously. The money will be directly transferred to their bank accounts, as reported in the Times of India.

Students studying in pre-matric and post-matric hostels, Morarji residential schools and colleges, Maulana Azad schools who clear exams at first attempt, and obtain first class marks will be rewarded.

This extends to grade 10 (SSLC), 12 (PUC), final year D.Ed, diploma, final year degree and the cash awards range from Rs 1,000, Rs 1,500, Rs 2,000 and Rs 3,000.

Suppose a school/college or a residential institute scores a 100 per cent result for their entire batch, then they shall be awarded Rs 10,000.

In 2013, the Congress government swung into majority after Siddaramaiah was announced as the Chief Ministerial candidate. He carried around him the votes of the Kuruba community, who account to more than 8 per cent of the voting population. The schemes too, which were rolled out there after have been appeasing particularly to the minorities, leading to earning of the title ‘Ahinda’, which includes Kurubas, Muslims, Dalits and other minorities.
