Three medical students evacuated from Wuhan, who tested positive for COVID-19, now been recovered taking the total number recorded cases to 67.
Health department confirmed that out of the 15, five are in Kasaragod district, four in Kannur and two each in Malappuram, Kozhikode and Ernakulam districts.
Kasaragod is now the most affected district in Kerala. The total positive cases in the district has shot up to 19. All the five newly case of infection reported in Kasaragod are men who recently returned from Dubai.
Close behind is Ernakulam. With two more new cases, the total number in Ernakulam rose to 14.
"A total of 59,295 people are under observation in the state, out of which 314 are in isolation wards. At least 4,035 samples have been sent for testing and 2,744 came back negative, a state government press release claimed.
The district collectors have imposed strict restrictions in Kasaragod and Kozhikode to contain the spread of the epidemic. All public transport system has been shut. All gatherings at public places have been banned. All place of worship, religious institutions, clubs, cinema halls, parks, beaches and other recreation facilities have been ordered to close.
