A big protest has erupted in Kerala against the incumbent State Government led by Chief Minister (CM) Pinarayi Vijayan over the issue of backdoor entry to chosen people in services, reports Hindustan Times.

Protesting against the system, Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) rank holders crawled outside the State's secretariat on their knees on Monday (15 February) and two of them were later hospitalised after they fainted.

The candidates are said to have pitched in tents outside the secretariat for more than a week in a bid to protest against the filling up of vacancies by ignoring rank holders.

The rank holders and protesting candidates have meanwhile pushed back with the allegation that party affiliation was the main criteria behind such postings and that these appointments are illegal.

CM Vijayan's Government has meanwhile alleged that the opposition parties are behind the stir and that they are provoking the youth before the upcoming assembly elections.
