The investigation team consisting of Kerala police working on the Kerala Nun rape case is mulling to question the 12 priests who were part of the church retreat in Kerala’s Attapadi village two years ago as reported in the Times of India.
Earlier the nun had said that she confessed at the prayer session in the church retreat about the sexual harassment being meted out to her by the Jalandhar Bishop Franco Mulakkal. She said that she was able to gather some confidence to confess, but was unable to identify the priest as the confessional box was partitioned.
This was disclosed by the nun to the police during the investigation. The investigation team, not knowing the identity of the priest, has decided to question all 12 priests who were part of the retreat session.
Sources in the police told that the confessions would be helpful for the team to identify the person they are looking for and it shall build a strong case for them.
Meanwhile, the Punjab police have sent information to the team in Kerala about the arrival of Mulakkal on September 19 in Kerala. The question of whether the Kerala police will interrogate him or not remains unanswered.
To escape the media, Mulakkal will land likely in Bengaluru, Chennai or Mangaluru and take a road journey to Kottayam.
