All India Congress Committee’s General Secretary for Madhya Pradesh - Deepak Babaria, has asked his party workers to learn discipline from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), after they were caught in an altercation over a chair, India News has reported.
The report claimed that this statement was made at an event in Vidisha on Monday (6 August).
The issue began when at a meeting called by Babaria, chairs were placed for all delegates except Sindhu Vikram Singh Bhawar Bana who is a member of a royal family. Bana, according to the report wants to fight the state elections on a Congress ticket.
When Bana did not get a chair to sit, Congress leader Mehmud Kamil took offence and complained to the district-in-charge. The issue later escalated into a brawl, with many Congress leaders seen pushing each other.
As a result, Babaria took objection to the whole affair and asked his party colleagues to follow in the footsteps of the RSS.
An NDTV report has claimed that Babaria has defended his RSS remark by stating that he found no harm in citing their example.
Babaria was also in the news last week when he was manhandled by his own party workers in Rewa, as he named Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia as possible chief ministerial candidates.
