Lucknow Metro Rail Cooperation has completed the process of laying tracks in the underground section (upline) of the first phase connecting Charbagh station and K D Singh Babu Stadium station, Metro Rail News has reported.
A system imported from Austria, called Mass Spring System, is being used by LMRC to reduce vibrations and sound in structures around the underground section. This system uses an elastomer pad of 25 mm thickness.
During the construction, Elastomer Mass Spring System sheet is laid first. This is followed by the placement of the reinforcement mesh, which in turn is filled with concrete up to the rail bottom. Rails are welded to avoid joints.
Track laying work in the downline tunnel is also progressing at a fast pace and is in the final stage, the report says. It could be completed in the next 10 days.
The first phase of the Lucknow Metro line from Transport Nagar to Charbagh was inaugurated on 5 September 2017.
