The embattled Kamal Nath government appears to have found a breather for itself after the state assembly was adjourned by the speaker till 26 March due to coronavirus, ANI has reported.

The house was adjourned amid uproar by the BJP led opposition, which was demanding a trust vote today (16 March).

A total of 22 Congress MLAs loyal to Jyotiraditya Scindia have tendered their resignations, thus resulting in the Kamal Nath led government lacking the required numbers.

Speaker N P Prajapati adjourned the house just after the Governor Lalji Tandon finished his customary address.

The Governor in his address asked the MLAs to uphold democratic ideals. He also told the government to hold a floor test on Monday itself.

Meanwhile, the opposition BJP has said that it will move the court if the floor test in Madhya Pradesh Assembly is not held on Monday.

BJP's chief whip Narottam Mishra demanded floor as Chief Minister Kamal Nath maintained that in the current political situation it is very difficult to do so.
