The postings of three prominent temple trusts in Maharashtra were allocated among the alliance partners of the state’s Maha Vikas Aghadi government on Wednesday (23 June).

While Shiv Sena got the chairman post of SiddhiVinayak Temple Trust, Mumbai, Shirdi Sai Baba Temple Trust chairman post given to NCP, Congress will get the chairmanship of Vitthal Rukhamai Temple Trust, Pandharpur.

The chairmanship of Shirdi trust, which earns around Rs 300-Rs 350 crores revenue annually, has seen competition between NCP and Congress as both parties tried to garner the coveted post.

NCP finally got this prestigious post as Shirdi trust was held by the Congress during Congress-NCP government in the past.

Shiv Sena has appointed Marathi film actor Adesh Bhandekar as chairman of Siddhivinayak Trust, Mumbai and Congress may likely appoint MLA Praniti Shinde as chairman of this Pandharpur trust.

These appointments to prestigious Hindu religious trusts in the state came after the Bombay High Court directive to Shirdi trust on the appointment of the chairman within two weeks.

Uddhav Thackeray led Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra did not fill many vital posts in co-operations and trusts of the state.
