#MeToo: Probe Panel Summons Acting President, Secretary and Treasurer Of BCCI For Deposition In Rahul Johri Case

BySwarajya Staff

Acting President of the Board of Cricket Council in India (BCCI) CK Khanna, acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary and treasurer Anirudh Chaudhry are summoned for deposition before the probe panel in the sexual harassment case against BCCI CEO Rahul Johri, reports the Times of India.

Swarajya had earlier reported that the Committee of Administrators (CoA) had appointed a three-member probe panel after the two-member committee consisting of Diana Edulji and Vinod Rai were unable to come to a unanimous decision. The panel has now summoned the acting president and treasurer of BCCI.

CK Khanna and Amitabh Choudhary received emails summoning them to a deposition while Anirudh Choudhary, on Friday (9 November) volunteered to assist in the enquiry against the BCCI chief.

"Yes, both CK Khanna and Amitabh have received mails to join Anirudh for a deposition in the sexual harassment case on Monday at the BCCI headquarters," a senior BCCI official has told PTI.

"This is the right decision by the panel to call all the office bearers to help them in the probe. I believe all the employees (male and female) of BCCI should also be called for deposition," the official adds.

The issue has become severe by the day with now all the three principal office bearers have been summoned for the deposition. While Monday is the last day of depositions, November 15 is the last day for the three-person panel of Rakesh Sharma, Barkha Singh and PC Sharma to submit the report to the CoA.
