More Than 4.5 lakh Students In UP Skip Board Exams As CM Yogi Adityanath Enforce Strict Regulations

Uttar Pradesh (UP) CM Yogi Adityanath’s promise of conducting fair and transparent exams and strict measures taken by the Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education authority has led to more than 4,68,804 students skipping the board exams by in the state, reports Zee News.

UP Board of Secondary Education Secretary on Wednesday (3 March), said 674 students did not turn up for the examination. They further added that around 400 were caught using unfair means while taking the tests and First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against 233 people for cheating in the board examination

The board exams in UP commenced on 18 February, and an astounding 2 lakh students skipped the exam in the first two days. As per data, the number of students registered for UP board exams in 2020 is 56,11,869 (including 30,25,442 high school students, 25,86,427 intermediate students).

21,106 candidates from 10th standard had enrolled under private category and the intermediate category, 70.542 have registered under the private category, mentions the report.

The UP high school board exams ended on 3 March, and the intermediate exams will end on 6 March. In districts that had earlier reported high instances of cheating, stitched and coloured sets of answer sheets were introduced to prevent tampering with written copies.
