“Voice-activated products are increasing in popularity in large part because they help to quickly get to the content we want to enjoy at that moment in time,” said Scott Hancock, VP, marketing, Plex.
According to an analysis by Streaming Observer, people in the US now spend more time watching Netflix than bonding with family. While an average user spends around one hour and 11 minutes each day watching Netflix, studies have shown that a family spend about 34 minutes to 37 minutes of ‘quality, undistracted time.’
Also, an Ofcom study has shown that the ritual of gathering around the living room television to watch the latest show has now become a relic of the past. While 45 per cent of people now watch a programme or film alone every day, nine in 10 watch one alone every week.

In an interview in 2017, Reed Hastings, co-founder and CEO of Netflix revealed that Indians were the fastest binge-watchers of Netflix shows. While the global average was four days, Indians completed series like Narcos, Bloodline and Marvel’s Jessica Jones in just three days.
