In a major development, Netherlands has joined the growing list of nations that have suspended the usage of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by pharmaceutical major AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford, reports Livemint.
Dutch health officials have suspended the use of AstraZeneca's vaccine for two weeks as a precautionary measure after "possible side effects" were reported in other nations like Denmark and Norway. The two nations have already suspended the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine because of concerns about blood clots.
It should be noted that presently, so such cases have come out in the Netherlands. However, the people in the Netherlands have been advised to contact their doctor if they develop "unexpected and/or unknown" symptoms after three days of receiving the jab.
Meanwhile, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has stated that that there was "no reason not to use" the vaccine.
