Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra are all set to be required to stand in a queue and go through airport security like any other flyer after losing their SPG security, Rediff has reported.
Earlier, the trio was allowed to bypass the security check, boarding queue and was ferried by their personal car to and from the aircraft.
The report claims that while the privileges should have ended as soon as the SPG cover was withdrawn, the Airports Authority of India and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security were informally asked to allow the earlier practice to continue.
This too is now all set to go as recently their car collided with another airport vehicle which resulted in the airport security officials threatening to file an FIR.
Besides this, the informal privilege was creating security issues and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security has now appraised the Home Ministry about their concerns, which will take a final call whether to take away this VVIP sop from the Gandhis.
