Now Travellers Will Be Able To Book An OYO Room In The Philippines

Popular Indian hotel chain OYO, on Wednesday (30 January) announced that it has launched services in the Philippines, Deccan Chronicle reports. The Ritesh Agarwal-founded firm has partnered with more than 21 franchised and leased hotels in the South-East Asian country.

The company in a statement said that the Philippines will be the eight market that OYO rooms will now operate after India, China, Nepal, United Kingdom (UK), Malaysia, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Indonesia.

Further the Indian-based hospitality firm, in the Philippines, has committed an investment of more than 50 million dollars for the next few years. The company is aiming to create thousand direct and indirect job opportunities the statement adds.

COO of OYO Hotels and Homes, Abhinav Sinha said, “We believe that by setting foot in the Philippines, we are advancing our vision of strengthening our foothold in Southeast Asia.”

Sinha adds that OYO is aiming to grow from 21 hotels and 500 rooms to 20,000 rooms in ten cities by 2020. The company plans to become a household name for local and international tourists visiting the country comprising over 7,000 islands.

"Our growth in the country will be fuelled by strong local leadership and a team of young hospitality enthusiasts," Sinha says. Currently, as part of its network, OYO has more than 13,000 franchised or leased hotels as well as more than 3,000 homes.
