On Monday, the Pakistan army violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) by resorting to indiscriminate firing and mortar shelling at Indian positions in Shahpur area of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.
But that is not the only way Pakistan seems to be targeting India; a search operation was launched on Monday along the border belt of Gurdaspur district of north Punjab after an unsuccessful infiltration bid was reported along the international border.
Firing was also reported by the Punjab police at the Chakri border outpost of Border Security Force (BSF) along the international border with Pakistan as the troopers repelled an intrusion attempt by a group of people in the counter offensive.
Approximately 1,000 villages in six border districts of Punjab, located within 10 km from the border have been ordered to be evacuated following tension between India and Pakistan.
Following India’s surgical strikes on terror camps in the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, there were statements of retribution from the Islamabad establishment. These two acts of aggression may just be part of that.
