Indigo airlines, expanding its air services in Uttarakhand, has started a direct flight service between Dehradun and Hyderabad from Thursday (15 November), Amar Ujala has reported.
Earlier, the passengers from Dehradun had to take a connecting flight from Delhi to reach Hyderabad.
Dehradun’s Jollygrant airport director, Vinod Sharma, started the direct flight service with a cake cutting ceremony in the presence of Indigo officials and other airport staff.
Sharma said the air service, on its inaugural flight, received a good response from passengers travelling to and from Dehradun.
On the very first day of the direct flight, 159 passengers took the flight for Hyderabad.
Passengers can avail the Indigo direct flight service to Hyderabad on all days of the week except Tuesdays.
According to the report, an Indigo A-320 Aircraft will land in Dehradun airport from Hyderabad at 4 pm and will commence the return journey at 4.50 pm.
Direct flight between the two cities will greatly benefit pilgrimage and tourism in the hill state. It will also benefit the people of Uttarakhand working in Hyderabad and surrounding areas as, instead of having to go Delhi first, they can now directly arrive at Dehradun airport.
