Just days ahead of his scheduled videoconference with leaders of all political parties on 8 April to discuss the evolving environment in the times of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) spread, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi yesterday (5 April) reached out to former PMs, presidents, and opposition leaders, reports Economic Times.
PM Modi called up former presidents Pranab Mukherjee and Pratibha Patil, while also reaching out to former PMs Manmohan Singh and H D Deve Gowda. He also called up Congress party interim president Sonia Gandhi.
Other opposition leaders who PM Modi called on include Samajwadi Party (SP)'s Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP)'s Mayawati and DMK's MK Stalin. PM Modi also spoke to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)'s chief Parkash Singh Badal.
