In his maiden visit to a foreign nation since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic last year, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi is set to travel to Bangladesh later this month to further strengthen the strong bilateral ties between the two neighbouring nations, reports Economic Times.

The development comes after External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar embarked on a visit to Dhaka on Thursday (4 March) to prepare for PM Modi's visit.

PM Modi's visit is expected to witness the conclusion of several new pacts in key areas.

Meanwhile, it should also be noted that following the Dhaka visit, PM Modi is expected to visit Europe in May to participate in the India-European Union summit. Thereafter, PM Modi will visit the United Kingdom (UK) in June to attend the G-7 Summit where India has been invited as a guest nation along with Australia and South Korea.
