Sachin Pilot has reaffirmed his stance on fighting corruption and pushing for youth welfare in the Rajasthan unit of Congress.

Despite Congress projecting the tussle to be on hold, Pilot remains resolute and unwilling to compromise on these issues.

Pilot, addressing the media in Tonk, said, "It is not possible for me to make any kind of compromise on corruption and with the future of the youth. I made a promise to the youth in my meeting in Jaipur on May 15 and what I had said at that time, I have put in front of the party leaders in Delhi and now everything is in the notice of the top leaders of the party."

The rebel Congress leader hinted that the ultimatum to CM Ashok Gehlot would expire on 2 June and said, "Let's wait and watch tomorrow."

Pilot urged the state government to investigate alleged corruption during Vasundhara Raje's administration and improve the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC). He requested immediate action for reforms.

"The corruption and loot that took place during the tenure of the previous Vasundhara government should be effectively investigated, while the youth who were wronged should also get justice. Radical changes should be brought in RPSC also. I am waiting for the state government to take action on all these," Pilot said.

"Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has also reiterated many times that our party is against corruption and works on the policy of zero tolerance, as well as our party will not tolerate any atrocities against the youth So there is nothing wrong in what I said," he said.

The Congress high command called a meeting on Monday (29 May) with Gehlot and Pilot to address the state's political tussle.

Party president Mallikarjuna Kharge held separate meetings with both leaders and projected a united front after the meetings.

They emphasised working together to counter the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming election.

Pilot had earlier kicked off a five-day Jan Sangharsh Yatra protesting the Rajasthan government's inaction regarding alleged corruption cases under the past Vasundhara Raje-led BJP administration.
