While delivering a lecture named ‘Indian Cultural Heritage and Its Importance’, at Goa, Rajya Sabha member Dr Subramanian Swamy has said that the Ravan was born near Noida in Delhi, HuffPost has reported. He added that the Aryan-Dravidian divide was planted by British colonialists to divide Indians.

Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M Karunanidhi, who died in August, believed that Ravan was a Dravidian. However, Swamy denied this and said that Ravan was born in a village named Bisrakh near Noida. He has been holding this view for a long time.

“And Rama was a hate figure for these people because he was from the north and he killed Ravan who was from Lanka and, therefore, Dravidian. Well, Ravan was not from Lanka. He was born in a village near Delhi, it is called Bisrakh. You can still go and see it. There are big billboards. The area is called Noida,” the Rajya Sabha member said.

At the same event, he also claimed that the Indian rupee was falling because of black money leaving India.
