The Reliance Jio GigaFiber has been the most anticipated service in the broadband sector since it was announced in the 41 Reliance Annual General Meeting (AGM). The service has been in testing for months now, and various unconfirmed details are been waiting to be confirmed when the service is available commercially.
Reliance is most-likely to give a complete rundown of the service in the upcoming AGM in July, My Smart Price reports. With beta-testing of the service almost completed, Reliance plans to give a green signal to the product with official pricing details and subscription options to users.
Earlier, reports of one of the plans- the ‘Triple Play Plan’ were revealed, in which the Mukesh Ambani-led company would ship DTH, broadband and landline in a single connection, retailing it at Rs 600. The plan would offer 100 GB data at 100 Mbps speeds, unlimited voice calling, Jio Home TV subscription and access to other Jio apps.
Another service the Jio GigaFiber would offer is the DTH service known as Jio HomeTV. The Jio HomeTV is set to be an IPTV, i.e, streamed via the internet, just like live TV making it free from TRAI jurisdiction. HomeTV service would be available in select plans, and could be paired up with landline connection with free voice-calling, the report added.
It was also reported that Reliance has slashed the prices of Jio GigaFiber by Rs 2,000. Earlier users could avail the router by depositing Rs 4,500. In April, It was reported that the Jio GigaFiber had again topped the list of fastest internet service providers in the country. All of these reports could be confirmed by Reliance in its upcoming AGM.
