The Delhi state government has made it compulsory for ride aggregators and delivery services to adopt electric vehicles (EVs) as and when they acquire their new fleet, Moneycontrol reports.

In the coming three months, the services mentioned above will have to ensure that 5 per cent and 10 per cent of their new four-wheelers and two-wheelers, respectively, are EVs in the national capital.

Subsequently, they will have to make sure that 25 per cent of their new four-wheelers and 50 per cent of their new two-wheelers are electric by March 2023.

Currently, this draft policy by the Delhi government has been put out in the public domain as suggestions and recommendations from people have been invited regarding the same.

Furthermore, Chief Minister (CM) Arvind Kejriwal-led government will also approach the Commission for Air Quality Management to tell other states of the national capital region (NCR) to adopt this particular policy.
