The Noida Metro Rail Corporation has generated a daily average revenue of Rs 3.6 lakh in the first ten days of operation of the Noida-Greater Noida metro (Aqua line) corridor, reports The Hindu.
The metro, as per the report, has a daily ridership of 11,389 and a total ridership of 1.25 lakh till 5 February.
The Hindu also quoted NMRC officials as saying that Noida Sector 51, recorded the highest footfall of 2,443 while Noida Sector 147 recorded the lowest of 29.
Also, Pari Chowk, Knowledge Park II, NSEZ and Sector 137 stations are reportedly the busiest stations while Noida sectors 146,145,144 and 148 stations are the ones dealing with low footfall.
The 30 km long corridor saw the highest ridership on 27 January when the average was approximately 13,870 and revenue generated was Rs 4.45 lakh.
The NRMC has generated an average daily revenue of Rs 9,294 and Rs1.4 lakh in QR ticket sale and top-up respectively, The Hindu quoted an official saying.
The 30-km long Aqua Line was inaugurated by Union Minister Hardeep Puri and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on 25 January while passenger operations on the corridor started on 26 January.
