With Devendra Fadnavis led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Maharashtra remaining non-committal on Shiv Sena's demand for a Chief Ministerial post for Aaditya Thackeray for half of the five-year term of government, latter's mouthpiece Saamana took a dig at the BJP-led Central government for the ongoing economic slowdown in the nation, reports ANI.
Saamna criticised Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi's government at the centre for its implementation of demonetisation and Goods and Services Tax (GST), which according to it are responsible for the slowdown in the economy.
It also added that the purchases in the markets have been 30-40 per cent lower than usual in this recent festive cycle and that because of demonetisation and GST, the economic situation is vitiating day by day.
Taking a potshot at the centre, the editorial quipped, "Itna sannata kyun hai bhai?" (Why is there so much silence?)
