Siddharamaiah Fights With JD(S) Karnataka President Vishwanath After Getting Mocked Over His CM Tenure

The rift between top coalition leaders JDS state president AH Vishwanath and former CM and current coordination committee chairperson Siddaramaiah failed to stop, despite advice from both the parties not to involve in public spats, the Hindu reports.

Vishwanath on Sunday (14 May) questioned demands of Siddaramaiah returning to CM’s chair. He said that administration under Siddaramaiah as chief minister was “nothing special”, and wondered whether he had done anything exceptional like former CM late Devaraj Urs. The Congress leader tweeted in response:

“The present is always cruel to those who do good to people. History testifies to this. People defeated Devaraj Urs, forgetting all his good deeds. Those who were loyal to Urs deserted him. Now Urs’s service to the society is being remembered. Time will answer the remarks stemming from jealousy.”

In another tweet, the former CM stressed the need to abide by “coalition dharma” forcing him to be silent and not respond to every “irresponsible statement” of the JDS leader.

Vishwanath responded saying that it was his followers who raised calls for Siddaramaiah to be CM again and reminded him that is was the first violation of the “coalition dharma.”
