Steel And Mining Giant ArcelorMittal To Invest More Than Rs 50,000 Crore In Gujarat, Announces CM Vijay Rupani

Gujarat's Chief Minister (CM) Vijay Rupani yesterday announced that metals and mining tycoon Lakshmi Mittal led ArcelorMittal shall invest more than Rs 50,000 crore in the State, reports Economic Times.

Rupani said, "All industrialists from India and abroad, including Lakshmi Mittal, are coming to Gujarat for making investment as they count Gujarat as the best investment destination. Lakshmi Mittal came to meet me yesterday (6 March). He told me that he will make an investment of more than Rs 50,000 crore in Gujarat in the coming days."


ArcelorMittal's executive chairman, Mittal during his visit to Gujarat also met with Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi who was in State's Kevadia to attend the Combined Commanders' Conference on Saturday (6 March).

It should be noted that the world's largest steel and mining company, ArcelorMittal already runs a steel manufacturing facility in Gujarat's Hazira industrial complex near the city of Surat.
