Accused of plundering the government bungalow allotted to him before leaving, Akhilesh Yadav has threatened officials of the states’ estate department who were involved in the eviction, Hindi-daily Amar Ujala has reported.
Without naming anyone in particular, Yadav said that official managing the task used to pick up ‘cups and plates’ before him earlier. He expressed his anger at the government machinery saying that officials should be aware that governments keep coming and going.
Akhilesh has come under heavy fire after the government bungalow was opened for inspection by the officials on Saturday (9 June). It was found that ACs, Turkish tiles, Italian marble and even bathroom fittings were missing from the property, leading to allegations that the house was subjected to the anger over the eviction.
However, Samajwadi Party (SP) claimed that all the things that are missing were Akhilesh’s personal belongings. Akhilesh too responded by saying that the government can send him a list of the missing items and he’ll pay for them.
Akhilesh also demanded that the state government return him the trees and rare plants planted by him in the estate terming them as his personal items.
