Expressing disgruntlement over the three-language formula introduced in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Chief Minister (CM) of Tamil Nadu EK Palaniswami said today (3 August) that the State will not implement the formula, reports Hindustan Times.

CM Palaniswami said that the State was already following a two-language policy of teaching students both, Tamil and English languages. he added that the two-language policy was being practised by the State for decades and there will be no changes in it.

The statement from CM Palaniswami comes amid opposition in Tamil Nadu against the National Education Policy (NEP) by alleging it to be an imposition of Hindi and Sanskrit.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has already clarified that the Centre is not going to impose any language on any State through the NEP.
