<p>The Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) has announced that it would oppose the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) proposed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).<br><br>Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) <a href="https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/telangana/brs-strongly-opposed-to-uniform-civil-code-says-kcr/article67064368.ece">said</a> that the UCC is part of the BJP's divisive politics.<br><br>The announcement came after a meeting with a delegation of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board led by Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi. <br><br>Ministers KT Rama Rao, Mahmood Ali and MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi were also present during the meeting.<br><br>The BRS announcement comes days after the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), which is part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) said that it would oppose the UCC.<br><br><em><strong>Also Read: <a href="https://swarajyamag.com/kerala/the-ucc-churn-in-kerala">The UCC Churn In Kerala</a></strong></em><a href="https://swarajyamag.com/kerala/the-ucc-churn-in-kerala"> </a></p>
