<p>Punjab police have arrested five people after an explosion near the Golden Temple in Amritsar occurred around 1 am on Friday (11 May).<br><br>This is the third low-intensity explosion in five days near Heritage Street in Amritsar.<br><br>"Amritsar low-intensity explosion cases solved," the Director General of Punjab Police said.<br><br>Earlier two blast occured, one on 6 May and the other on 8 May, and today's low-intensity blast happened almost two kilometers away from Heritage Street, a famous tourist attraction near the Golden Temple.<br><br>The NIA and Punjab Police gathered forensic samples from the blast site and are investigating the incident.<br><br>According to the preliminary reports, the explosion had no triggering mechanism, <em>NDTV</em> <a href="https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/two-people-detained-after-an-explosion-near-golden-temple-in-punjabs-amritsar-late-last-night-third-blast-in-a-week-4023869">cited</a> sources as saying.<br><br>The explosive used in the two blasts on Heritage Street in Amritsar were packed with two health drink cans.<br><br>One person was injured in the blast that took place on Monday. The police found no detonator and suspect that the explosive was kept in a container.<br><br>The explosive was crudely made, and no shrapnel was used, according to the police.<br><br>One person was injured, and the glass facades of some buildings were damaged in the blast on 6 May.</p>
