Two terrorists were killed by the security forces in an encounter in Hend Sita Pora area of Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday (12 May), reports Zee News.
Weapons and huge cache ammunition was recovered from the site of encounter where the brief exchange of fire took place, said the J&K police, as reported by ANI. However, the identity and affiliation of the terrorists is yet to be ascertained.
Following specific inputs about the presence of the terrorists in the area, the security forces launched a cordon and search operation, an Army official said.
"It was a clean operation and no collateral damage took place," ANI quoted police as saying.
People have been asked not to venture into the encounter site and cooperate with the authorities until the area is completely sanitised and cleared of any explosive material.
Earlier, on 3 May, three terrorists were killed after a brief exchange of fire between terrorists and security forces in Shopian of J&K. Forces also gunned down a terrorist who sworn allegiance with the Islamic State on Friday (10 May).
