The lockdown in Uttar Pradesh will continue till June 30 but as per the guidelines for 'Unlock 1', as issued by the Centre, shopping malls, hotels, restaurants, and places of worship will be allowed to reopen from 8 June.
Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Uttar Pradesh, Avanish Awasthi told reporters that said that the state government will allow religious places, hotels, restaurants and shopping malls to reopen from 8 June but with safety protocols.
He said that no relaxations would be allowed in the containment zones and District Magistrates would also be allowed to take decisions on relaxations and restrictions, depending on the COVID-19 situation in their areas.
The official said that state roadways buses and private buses would be allowed to ply on the roads but passengers would have to wear masks and follow social distancing.
Under 'Unlock 1', the state government offices will ensure 100 per cent attendance of employees but they will work in three shifts in order to prevent crowding at work places.
Markets will remain open from 9:00am to 9:00 pm in order to prevent customers from crowding the areas. Weekly markets, however, will remain closed.
Awasthi further said that movement of tempos and autos would be decided by respective DMs.
