In an unprecedented development so far, the United States (US) yesterday (13 November) recorded the emergence of more than fresh 1,60,000 COVID-19 cases for the first time since the onset of the pandemic, reports Economic Times.
This comes just eight days after the nation had for the first time recorded more than 1,00,000 new cases in a single day. Furthermore, in six of the last nine days, the nation has set a new record in the tally of fresh cases of the disease.
Also, the nation has been reporting more than a thousand deaths each day over the past week.
The upsurge in new COVID-19 cases across the US has resulted in stretched medical resources, yet again prompting the states, counties and cities to consider the imposition of another round of lockdowns.
