Uttar Pradesh: CM Yogi Adityanath Hands Over Appointment Letters To 31,277 Assistant Teachers

In a big push towards the creation of employment opportunities in the education sector, Chief Minister (CM) Yogi Adityanath on bygone Friday (16 October) handed over appointment letters to 31,277 assistant teachers, reports Indian Express.

The appointment letters were handed over to the candidates selected by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) which had listed 69,000 vacancies in 2019.

CM Adityanath also explained that his Government had initiated the process of filling the 69,000 vacancies but met with some hurdles. He also added that the rest of the appointments will be made as soon as the Government gets the clearance to go-ahead from the court.

It should also be noted that as per the information shared by the Government spokesperson, in 2017-18 a total of 5,948 teachers were appointed. This surged to the appointment of 46,319 teachers in 2019-20 academic session. And with the latest round of appointments, the total number of teachers appointed by the State Government so far has surged to 83,544.
