On Sunday (18 June), the Uttar Pradesh government announced that the Buddh international circuit in Greater Noida will host India's first MotoGP racing event on 22 and 23 September.
Various media platforms will broadcast the bike racing event to a global audience, said a government official.
The high-end racing machines in the adventurous championship will enhance the reputation of 'Brand UP'.
This marks the return of a major motorsport event in India after the departure of Formula 1 in 2013.
A meeting was held a few months ago to explore the feasibility of organising the prestigious bike racing event.
Additional Chief Secretary (Sports) Navneet Sehgal expects that the hospitality and tourism sectors will get a boost from the MotoGP event.
"The presence of around 276 brands of the world at the event level will attract investors towards the possibilities of UP," he said.
