Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat on Friday (9 April) said that he will review the formation of the Char Dham Devasthanam board, which was set up to take over the administration of the temples in state by the former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat last year.
As many as 51 shrines, including Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri and Gangotri, came under the direct control of the state government after Governor Baby Rani Maurya gave her assent to the Char Dham Devsthanam Management Bill that was passed during the winter session of the Assembly in December 2019.
Tirath Singh Rawat, who took over as state CM last month, in a meeting with saints in Haridwar during the ongoing Maha Kumbh assured that there will be a review on the decision of formation of Char Dham Devasthanam Board.
He also said that the state government's management over 51 prominent temples will be removed.
