Watch: Controversial Congress MLA Alpesh Thakor Incites Crowd Against Migrants, Threatens Violence

Congress MLA Alpesh Thakor has courted fresh controversy after a video dated September has emerged showing him inciting a crowd against migrants. This comes in the light of Thakor making news by announcing his decision to go on a fast to save ‘rioters’ targeting North Indians.

The state of Gujarat has recently witnessed violence against migrants especially from states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh following an alleged rape of a 14-month-old girl. The accused is said to be a migrant from Bihar.

Now in the video posted by Desh Gujarat journalist Japan K Pathak, the Congress MLA has been heard saying that, “outsiders do crime here, crime rates have gone up, clashes with villagers are up, they (outsiders) beat up commoners in villagers, do crime and then go back to their place”.

He also expressed anger against “outsiders” taking the job of locals in Gujarat’s industries.

He was also been heard threatening a violent agitation that if post Dussehra, locals are not given jobs currently done by outsiders. A Desh Gujarat report quotes him as warning that, “trucks would be stopped, gates would be broken...tyres would be cut”.
