Watch: Money Thrown Out Of Building In Kolkata During Raid By Directorate Of Revenue Intelligence 

In a scene resembling the cinema, bundles of currency notes were thrown from the sixth floor of a building in central business district of Kolkata on Wednesday (20 November) afternoon, reports India Today.

DRI reportedly said that its sleuths had gone to the office of a private company engaged in export-import activities located on that floor to conduct search operations for alleged evasion of duty.

“It was around 3 pm when I heard about the incident. I couldn’t believe my ears. My office is in the vicinity and I rushed to see what had happened. As I reached the building, I was dumbfounded to see currency notes of Rs 2,000 and Rs 500 floating in the air,” Ajmal Khan, a Bentinck Street local told TOI.

“Someone was throwing off notes from a window on the sixth floor. While the wads fell inside the compound, there was a mad rush for notes that came floating outside. Nobody entered the premises,” said another witness.
