Usain Bolt, the eight-time Olympic Gold Medal winner, has finally kicked on with his football career scoring two goals as he led his Central Coast Mariners to a victory over Macarthur Southwest United in a friendly.
Bolt has had a rocky start to his career struggling to make the desired impact on the field, but that looks to have changed after he scored his first goal followed by another in a quick-fire double that made the crowd erupt with joy after missing multiple opportunities to score.
Bolt has been a lifelong football fan and made his intentions clear after he vowed that his goal was to play for the legendary football club Manchester United someday. The path towards his goal starts at the A-league outfit where he is battling for a professional contract.
Bolt was keen to show the world that he was improving and he reiterated this point in his post-match press conference where he said, “I watch football, so I understand the move but the simple things like locking my ankles, getting to space pulling defenders away stuff like that… I’ve learned a lot, and I’ve been improving quickly I feel, so I’m just happy I’m showing the world I’m improving.”
