"We're Going In Wrong Direction", Says Biden's Chief Medical Advisor Dr Fauci Over COVID-19 Situation In The US

President Joseph Biden's chief medical advisor Dr Anthony Fauci has sounded alarm that the United States (US) is in an "unnecessary predicament" of soaring COVID-19 cases fuelled by the unvaccinated population and the virulent Delta variant of the virus, reports Economic Times.

Dr Fauci rued, "This is an issue predominantly among the unvaccinated, which is the reason why we're out there, practically pleading with the unvaccinated people to go out and get vaccinated."

Dr Fauci further added that the Government may go on to suggest booster shots of COVID-19 vaccines for already vaccinated people with suppressed immune systems. He said that the experts are presently reviewing the early data as they consider whether to recommend that vaccinated individuals should get booster shots.

Dr Fauci added that some of the most vulnerable, such as organ transplant and cancer patients, are "likely'' to be recommended for booster shots.
