Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh.
The West Bengal state unit president of BJP Dilip Ghosh on Tuesday (15 June) said that over 30 party workers were killed since the election results were announced a one-and-half month back.
Dilip Ghosh said his party workers are being denied benefits doled out by the state government for cyclone-hit victims.
“At least 30-32 of our workers have been killed in the past one-and-a-half months, but Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee never held any discussion on this issue. The administration doesn’t seem to be bothered about the violent attacks on TMC’s political opponents,” he said.
Against those posting their grievances on social media about the BJP’s state of affairs, he said, “Let the ones sitting at home keep themselves busy in tweets and counter tweets. Those working outside, in the field, don’t have time.”
The BJP workers and their dispensation have been receiving significant political violence launched by alleged TMC workers. The violence has led to the death of many BJP workers. The properties of BJP workers were vandalised across the state.
