The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (DMRC) has invited open e-tenders from agencies on International competitive bidding (ICB) basis for 40 broad gauge cars, or Rolling Stock (RS), for its project, Metro Rail News has reported.

The companies will have to design, manufacture, supply, test and commission the rolling stock. The Broad gauge cars supplied under the tender should be compatible and suitable for integration with the existing broad gauge cars of the DMRC.

The existing broad gauge cars of DMRC include RS2, RS5, RS7 and RS11 and are supplied by BT consortium.

The total number of broad gauge cars to be supplied will be 40 and the total cost of the work will be Rs 462 crore without taxes and duties. The bidders will have to submit a security amount of Rs 4.7 crore for the tender.

DMRC in its tender [PDF] has estimated the completion period of work as 100 weeks. The cost of the tender documents is Rs 23,600 (including GST) and the last date of seeking clarification has been set to 5 November.

The tenders can be downloaded from 10 October to 12 November 2018 up to 10.00 am. Submission of tenders can be done up to 11.00 am on 12 November and will be opened on 11.05 am on 13 November 2018.
