Karnataka BJP vice president Tejaswini Ananth Kumar has issued a clarification denying the genuineness of a poster reading, “Vote NOTA in Bengaluru South to support Tejaswini Ananth Kumar ji”, reports The New Indian Express. Pictures of the poster had gone viral on WhatsApp.
Kumar rubbished the rumour in a Twitter post, writing, “It came to my knowledge that somebody is spreading rumours about me asking people to vote for NOTA. This is unfounded and malicious.”
She also said at a press conference that the poster was fake, adding that the poster was intended to malign her and the BJP. She stated that she has lodged a formal complaint with the Election Commission and has also approached the cyber division of the police.
She reiterated her stance that people should come out to vote for the BJP in order for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to get a second term. Upon being questioned about why she had not played a role in the campaign of the BJP candidate from Bangalore South, Tejasvi Surya, she replied, “I did not do a very visible campaign.’’
